NO 'CADRE SCHOOL' FOR ME!

"The [LaRouche] Youth Movement is absolutely nuts. I don't think it can be emphasized enough how closely it resembles the Hitler Youth."

Posting by Kent, a UCLA student, on FactNet's LaRouche message board, Thurs., March 10, 2005, 08:15 AM

I was recruited on the UCLA campus a little more than a month ago. I always keep an open mind, so when they invited me to a meeting, i went along. It seemed pretty interesting. The emphasis on "rigid classical" music and art was intriguing, although kind of overwhelming.

The part that scared me off though was the immediate demand for commitment of my time. They wanted me to go to the Cadre School and they wanted me to go to lots more meetings and read Keppler and tons of other philosophy essays.

When I refused to go to a Cadre School, they kept on calling me, trying to convince me that I was wasting my time by hanging out with friends and focussing on school (UCLA).

My recruiter was John-Paul (sp.?), and my primary phone contacts were the aforementioned and a guy named Trey. Any of you guys know these names? Both were very hard to get rid of on the phone. I am so ridiculously glad that I read this forum tonight.

I agree with some of LaRouche's politics, but the Youth Movement is absolutely nuts. I don't think it can be emphasized enough how closely it resembles the Hitler Youth. I'm glad I only went to one meeting.

By the way, this is my real name....
